Playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan recently opened up about the pivotal moment that launched her successful career in Bollywood. Appearing alongside lyricist Prasoon Joshi on the game show Kaun Banega Crorepati, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, the celebrated vocalist shared an emotional memory from her childhood, giving credit to the late actor and talk show host Tabassum for bringing her from Delhi to Mumbai.
Early Beginnings and the Initial Discovery
Reflecting on the start of her musical venture, Sunidhi Chauhan revealed that she began singing at the early age of four. What started purely as a childhood passion gradually evolved into a lifelong profession. During her early days, she performed at a local event where Tabassum witnessed her talent for the first time. Deeply impressed by the young girl's vocal ability, Tabassum encouraged her to move to Mumbai to pursue a serious career in music.
The Crucial Audition with Kalyanji-Anandji
Following that initial encounter, Tabassum invited Sunidhi Chauhan and her family to her residence in Mumbai. Recognizing the extraordinary potential in the young singer, Tabassum personally took her to meet the legendary music composition duo Kalyanji-Anandji. During the meeting, veteran composer Kalyanji sat down with Sunidhi and listened to her sing continuously for about half to three-quarters of an hour. Spellbound by her voice, Kalyanji declared that the young artist should not return to Delhi, insisting that she stay in Mumbai to build her future in the film industry.
A Special Musical Moment with Amitabh Bachchan
The upcoming episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati features not only these nostalgic revelations but also a memorable musical performance on stage. During the show, Sunidhi Chauhan made a special request to host Amitabh Bachchan to perform his iconic track Rang Barse. Amitabh Bachchan warmly accepted her wish and started singing the classic song live in the studio. Sunidhi Chauhan joined in alongside him, matching notes and turning the episode into a festive celebration for the audience present on set.
