Versatile Bollywood actress Radhika Apte is gearing up for the release of her upcoming web series titled ‘Akka’. In this much-anticipated project, she shares the screen with prominent South Indian cinema star Keerthy Suresh, with both portraying leading roles. During a recent interview, Radhika Apte spoke candidly about professional dynamics and relationships between women on film sets, firmly rejecting the age-old and regressive stereotype that claims two female actors frequently clash or engage in disputes during production.
Compatibility Over Gender Stereotypes
Radhika Apte firmly believes that the atmosphere of any workplace is determined by interpersonal synergy rather than a person's gender. Challenging the narrative that women struggle to get along with each other, she asserted that men are often far more insecure than women. According to her, the issue is not about men or women at all, but rather about individual rapport and mutual adjustment. She noted that people naturally connect with certain individuals while failing to find common ground with others, regardless of gender.
Sharing her personal experience on location, Radhika Apte described the working environment as positive, highlighting the substantial presence of women both in front of and behind the camera. She noted that the production featured a nearly equal distribution of men and women, with several women in the cast as well as among the crew handling backend responsibilities. She felt that this dynamic fostered a strong sense of sisterhood on set, which made the entire working experience significantly more comfortable for everyone involved.
Professionalism Versus Personal Friendship
Elaborating further on workplace relationships, Radhika Apte clarified that getting along with colleagues does not automatically mean forming deep friendships with every single person on set, whether male or female. She pointed out that individuals can maintain healthy and strictly professional ties with their peers even if they do not share a close personal bond outside of work.
