In a major administrative reshuffle, the Haryana government has issued orders for the transfer and reassignment of 16 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and 10 Haryana Civil Service (HCS) officers across various state departments with immediate effect. According to an official directive released by the administration, several senior bureaucrats have been handed additional charges alongside their ongoing duties, while others have been posted to head critical governance sectors ranging from urban planning to public food supply.
Expanded Portfolios for Senior IAS Officers
Under the official order, Rajiv Ranjan, currently serving as the Principal Secretary of the Labour Department, has been assigned the additional charge of Principal Secretary of the Fisheries Department. Similarly, Shekhar Vidyarthi, who holds the dual responsibilities of Commissioner and Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department along with Director General of Fire Services, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board in an additional capacity.
In another significant reassignment, IAS officer Amneet P Kumar has been posted as the Principal Secretary of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. Additionally, Amneet P Kumar has also been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Sports Department, bringing key administrative oversight to both crucial welfare and public distribution sectors.
Strategic Changes in Urban Planning and Skill Training
Officer Parth Gupta, who serves as the Director and Special Secretary of the Sports Department, Director and Special Secretary of the Tourism Department, and Managing Director of the Haryana Tourism Corporation Limited, has seen his administrative portfolio expand further. He has been given the additional charge of Director and Special Secretary of the Skill Development and Industrial Training Department while retaining all his existing roles.
Meanwhile, J Ganesan has been entrusted with a wide range of state development initiatives. He will serve as the Commissioner and Secretary of the Citizen Resources Information Department and act as the Chief Executive Officer for specialized units managing the Haryana AI Development Project and the Haryana Clean Air Project for Sustainable Development. Furthermore, J Ganesan will function as the Director General and Secretary of the Town and Country Planning Department as well as the Director General of Haryana Urban Estates.
The state government has posted Ashok Kumar Meena as the Commissioner and Secretary of the Urban Local Bodies Department, alongside the additional role of Commissioner and Secretary of the Foreign Cooperation Department. Additionally, Chandra Shekhar Khare has been designated as the Managing Director of the Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED) and will also hold the position of Director General and Secretary of the Housing for All Department.
Reassignments Across the HCS Cadre
Among the 10 state civil service personnel transferred, Yogesh Kumar Mehta, who was functioning as Secretary to both the State Police Complaints Authority and the Haryana Traders Welfare Board, has now been appointed as the Secretary of the Haryana Traders Welfare Board and Secretary of the Haryana State Food Commission.
Furthermore, Nishu Nee Namrata Singhal, previously posted as Additional Transport Commissioner (Road Safety), has been transferred to the Elementary Education Department as Additional Director (Administration). In addition to this responsibility, Nishu Nee Namrata Singhal will also serve as the Additional State Project Director for the Haryana School Education Project Council. The state administration expects these widespread postings to streamline departmental workflows and enhance policy delivery.
