A shocking incident of domestic violence leading to a tragic family death has emerged from Karnal district in Haryana. In Kutel village, a young student took the life of his own father while attempting to shield his mother and sister from a brutal physical assault. Following the fatal altercation, the youth himself transported his father's body to the local hospital, where the authorities were subsequently alerted.
Years of Substance Abuse and Domestic Agony
The deceased, identified as Rajinder, worked as a private vehicle driver, while his family engaged in farming to earn their livelihood. His wife, Babli, revealed that Rajinder was severely addicted to alcohol and had turned their household into a place of constant fear. Over a long period, he routinely came home intoxicated and physically assaulted both his wife and daughter. According to Babli, the family was utterly exhausted and distressed by this endless cycle of violence, which reached a boiling point on the day of the incident.
A Son Intervenes to Protect His Mother and Sister
During yet another heated argument where Rajinder began violently beating his wife and daughter, his son decided to intervene to save their lives. In the ensuing struggle to disarm and stop the enraged father, the young student ended up causing Rajinder's death. Babli explained to the police that the act was committed out of sheer desperation to protect them from further physical harm.
Law Enforcement and Forensic Experts Initiate Probe
Panic-stricken after the confrontation, the son immediately rushed his father's body to the Karnal Trauma Centre. Upon receiving information from the medical facility, the local police mobilized quickly. Officers along with a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team arrived at the crime scene in Kutel to secure evidence. The body has been taken into police custody and sent for an autopsy. Investigating officers stated that the precise cause and circumstances of the death will be determined once the post-mortem report is released. A detailed investigation is currently underway to uncover all aspects of the case.
