The traditional urge to bring home a brand new vehicle during the auspicious festive period of Diwali and Dhanteras has shattered previous sales records across the Jhunjhunu district. From bustling city showrooms to rural dealership outposts, massive crowds of eager buyers turned out in full force. This seasonal buying frenzy has infused tremendous energy into the local automotive trade, bringing wide smiles to the faces of dealers.
Stellar Growth in Sales Figures
According to the official figures, a total of 14,760 two-wheelers and 931 cars were successfully sold across the district during this festive window. When compared against the performance of the exact same festive season last year, the numbers show a remarkable leap. During the previous year, the district had recorded sales of 12,320 bikes and 760 cars. This time around, an additional 2,440 bikes and 171 cars found new owners, translating to a combined extra sale of 2,611 vehicles over the previous year. In terms of business growth, two-wheeler sales registered an impressive surge of nearly 20 percent, while four-wheeler car sales jumped by a massive 22.5 percent.
Hero Dominates Two-Wheeler Segment with Long Waitlists
When looking at the two-wheeler category specifically, local buyers clearly favored Hero as their top choice. Breaking down the brand-wise numbers, Hero secured the leading position with 8,300 bikes sold, while other companies collectively accounted for 345 bike purchases. Market demand skyrocketed to such an extent that showrooms currently have a waiting list exceeding 1,500 two-wheelers for popular models. Customers placing new bookings today are being informed that they will have to wait until the final week of November to take physical delivery of their motorcycles.
Maruti and Mahindra Lead Four-Wheeler Demand
The four-wheeler segment mirrored the same level of intense consumer enthusiasm. Out of the total 931 cars sold, Maruti Sujuki emerged at the very front by selling 298 units, while various other manufacturers accounted for 75 car purchases by customers. Car showrooms have also logged advanced bookings for over 100 vehicles, and the delivery process for these pre-booked units will continue steadily through the end of November.
Delivery Momentum Extends Beyond the Festival
Local automobile merchants point out that acquiring a new vehicle on Dhanteras is viewed not merely as a practical necessity, but deeply as a symbol of prosperity and a fortunate new beginning. Even with the official festival date now behind them, the workflow of handing over keys at the showrooms has not slowed down. Given the heavy backlog of waiting lists and advanced bookings, dealers expect steady commercial vibrancy to persist throughout the entire month of November across the Jhunjhunu market.
