A shocking case has emerged from Hisar in Haryana, where a man allegedly stabbed his live-in partner to death. Soon after the killing, the accused himself walked into a police post and confessed to the crime. The woman's body was found with multiple injury marks.
Accused confesses at the police post
According to police, the accused reached Suryanagar police post after the murder and told officers there that he had killed Pooja. He told police that Pooja was in contact with another young man, which he claimed was the reason for his anger. When a police team reached the spot, Pooja's body was found lying inside her own house.
Who was Pooja, and how the relationship began
According to available information, Pooja had been married twice before and has 3 children. Around 5 years ago, she left her husband and had since been living in a live-in relationship with her partner in the Shivnagar area. The accused has been identified as Gaurav. Gaurav drove an e-rickshaw for a living and had moved into a rented house in Shiv Colony only about two months earlier. During this period, he happened to meet Pooja while out somewhere, and the two grew close.
Stabbed multiple times with a knife
Initial investigation suggests that a heated argument broke out between Gaurav and Pooja around 3 am late at night. The dispute escalated to the point that Gaurav, in a fit of rage, attacked Pooja repeatedly with a knife. She was stabbed multiple times on the neck, stomach and back, and died on the spot.
Police action and investigation
As soon as police were alerted, a team reached the scene, prepared a panchnama, and brought Pooja's body to Hisar for a post-mortem examination. A forensic team also examined the crime scene closely and collected key evidence. Police have arrested the accused, Gaurav, and also recovered the knife used in the murder. The case is under investigation.
Family alleges a property dispute behind the murder
Pooja's family claims the real reason behind the murder was a property dispute. According to the deceased's mother, Pooja had bought a seventy-gaj plot in Hisar and had listed both her children as nominees on it. Gaurav was reportedly upset about this. Her mother says Gaurav wanted his own name recorded as the nominee instead of the children's, and this had been a long-running point of conflict between the two. The deceased's family has demanded the strictest possible punishment for the accused.
