According to the details provided by the victim's family, the tragedy unfolded late at night while the little girl was fast asleep in her home. The family strongly suspects that a man named Sumit, who worked alongside them, stealthily abducted the sleeping child. During the time of the suspected abduction, a generator was running continuously on the premises. The loud, droning noise of the generator completely muffled any sounds, preventing the family from noticing the child being carried away or hearing any struggle. When the family woke up and realized the little girl was missing from her bed, they panicked and immediately launched a search throughout the neighborhood. Their desperate search came to a tragic end when they discovered her naked body submerged inside a water tank, with her limbs securely tied. The nature of the discovery has led the family to suspect a brutal crime before her death.
Police Interventions and Arrest of Suspect
Upon receiving the distressing information, a team from the Mohana police station rushed to the spot, secured the scene, and registered a formal criminal case. Initiating an immediate investigation focusing heavily on the murder angle, the police managed to detain the prime suspect, Sumit. Investigators revealed that Sumit is a resident of Badsat village, situated in the neighboring Karnal district. When the police apprehended him, he was found in an extremely intoxicated state.
