Following a violent episode in Panchkula, another alarming school violence incident has come to light from Sonipat, Haryana. At Orchids The International School located in Bahalgarh, a Class 11 student was severely assaulted by five of his own classmates. The brutal attack left the teenager bleeding with a split scalp, sparking serious questions regarding student supervision and classroom safety within the campus.
Playful Banter Turns Violent Inside the Classroom
The altercation reportedly began under the pretext of playful behaviour between students inside the classroom. During the interaction, the five accused classmates pulled a jacket over the victim's head to completely blindfold and immobilise him. Unable to see or defend himself, the boy was subjected to a sudden and merciless physical thrashing. The blows caused deep head wounds, requiring immediate emergency intervention.
Hospitalisation and Allegations of Lax Supervision
The injured teenager was rushed to Sonipat Civil Hospital, where medical staff had to administer multiple stitches to close the severe cuts on his head. He continues to undergo treatment at the facility. Distressed over the incident, the victim's family accused the school management of gross negligence. Relatives pointed out that no teacher was present in the classroom during the assault, allowing the altercation to escalate unchecked without adult intervention.
Disciplinary Suspension and Police Investigation Underway
In response to the violent outburst, the school principal initiated immediate disciplinary measures by placing all five accused students under suspension. The school administration announced that complete CCTV footage of the premises is being reviewed to establish the exact sequence of events. The school disciplinary committee has been tasked with recommending further formal action. Concurrently, the victim's parents submitted a formal complaint at the Bahalgarh police station, where law enforcement officers have commenced an official investigation into the matter.
