According to available details, former Una Sadar MLA Satpal Raizada, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, MLA Rakesh Kalia, and other leaders were engaged in an informal conversation. During this interaction, the discussion shifted towards the health and recent medical treatment of the incumbent BJP MLA Satpal Singh Satti. Without directly naming Satti at first, Satpal Raizada made a derisive remark suggesting that the surgery was performed at the wrong place and should have been done on the mouth instead. Rajesh Thakur, former MLA from the Gagret assembly constituency in Una district and current state vice-president of the BJP, took to social media to voice his disapproval. He stated that he strongly denounces the alleged objectionable comments made by the opposition leader against senior BJP leader and Una Sadar MLA Satpal Singh Satti. He emphasized that while ideological differences are a natural pillar of democracy, maintaining decorum and respecting senior leaders in public life remains paramount.
Medical Background and Recent Hospitalization
Reports indicate that Satpal Singh Satti, former president of the Himachal Pradesh BJP and current MLA, had been suffering from piles and recently underwent a surgical procedure in Chandigarh. After spending a few days recovering in the hospital, he has since returned home, where visitors and political figures have been dropping by to check on his recovery. Just days prior, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri had also visited his residence to inquire about his health. However, the controversial remarks were made on Sunday at the PWD Rest House in Una during a gathering of Congress leaders in the immediate presence of the Deputy CM.
