Anuradha Rana, the youngest lawmaker in Himachal Pradesh and Congress MLA representing the Lahaul Spiti constituency, has tested positive for swine flu. Following a sudden deterioration in her health, she was admitted to the IGMC Hospital in Shimla, where she received medical care for approximately five days. Doctors discharged her from the facility on Wednesday after her condition stabilized. However, owing to her illness and hospitalization, she was unable to attend any portion of the state assembly's monsoon session.
Hospital Discharge and Strict Isolation Protocol
Shortly after her release from the hospital, MLA Anuradha Rana shared an update regarding her health status on social media. She confirmed that medical diagnostics detected swine flu (H1N1) during her treatment. To ensure complete recovery and prevent potential transmission, physicians have strongly advised her to remain in self-isolation for seven to ten days. While physical meetings with constituents will not be possible during this period, she assured the public that she will remain continuously accessible via telephone to address any issues or administrative concerns in Lahaul Spiti.
Regret Over Missed Assembly Session and Expression of Gratitude
Expressing deep regret over her absence from the legislative assembly during the monsoon session, the lawmaker mentioned that missing the opportunity to present her constituency's voice in the house was disheartening. She expressed confidence that she would participate in the upcoming legislative session with renewed strength and double energy. During her hospitalization, several prominent dignitaries including the Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers, fellow legislative members, organizational leaders, board chairmen, directors, and party workers visited her to inquire about her well-being. She extended her sincere thanks to everyone who prayed for her swift recovery.
Swine Flu Situation in Himachal Pradesh and Recognized Symptoms
The detection of swine flu cases in multiple districts has prompted heightened vigilance from state health authorities. Across Himachal Pradesh, a total of 11 positive swine flu cases have been reported so far. The viral infection has already claimed two lives in the state, with one death recorded in Mandi district and another in Bilaspur district. Health officials have urged citizens to stay alert and monitor for initial signs of the infection.
