A shocking tragedy has unfolded in Uttar Pradesh as a 26-year-old female boxer and fitness instructor, who went missing during festival shopping, was found dead. The victim, identified as Mantasha Kumari, lived in the Ekhlaq Nagar area of Kanpur. Her sudden and unnatural death has plunged her family into deep grief while local authorities work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the grim discovery in Unnao.
Went Out for Market But Phone Switched Off
According to her family, Mantasha left her house at around five in the evening on Thursday, stating she was heading to the Lalbangla market in Chakeri to buy items for Diwali. As evening turned to night and she failed to return, her relatives tried calling her, but her mobile phone was switched off. After an exhaustive search among acquaintances yielded no results, the family lodged a missing person report at the Gangaaghat police station in Unnao. On Friday, police recovered an unidentified body, which was later identified by grieving relatives at the mortuary on Saturday morning.
State-Level Gold Medalist and Gym Trainer
Mantasha had carved out a notable path in sports and fitness. She practiced boxing alongside her father, Prem Kumar, who has long been associated with the sport and trains young aspirants. Proving her mettle in the ring, Mantasha won a gold medal at a state-level championship in Uttar Pradesh. Later, she transitioned into professional fitness training and worked as a trainer at the Fusion Fit gym located in Jajmau. She was also active on social media, where she regularly uploaded fitness and workout content.
Family Points Accusing Finger at Acquaintances
Following the tragic turn of events, the family has raised serious suspicions about foul play. The victim's mother, Sanjana, openly blamed her daughter's boyfriend for the killing. Meanwhile, her father stated that a young man who used to train at the same gym was in regular contact with her. When Mantasha underwent a medical procedure earlier, this same individual had visited her in the hospital. Police authorities have noted the allegations made by the family, though an official confirmation regarding the exact motive or the killer's identity is still pending as the investigation continues.
Preparations for Family Wedding Cut Short
Relatives shared that Mantasha had undergone a medical operation around two months ago due to a growth in her uterus, which kept her away from the gym for a brief period. Having recovered sufficiently, she had recently resumed her routine activities outside the home. The household was currently engrossed in preparations for her niece's wedding, scheduled for November 18. The tragic incident has turned an impending joyous celebration into an environment of profound mourning and sorrow.
