A celebration turned into a severe tragedy late at night when a vehicle veered off a mountain road and tumbled into a deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh. The fatal crash occurred in the Anni subdivision of Kullu district, claiming the lives of four passengers on the spot. Another passenger traveling in the same vehicle sustained severe injuries and was immediately evacuated for emergency medical care. Those on board were traveling back home after attending a wedding ceremony.
Vehicle plunged into gorge between Haripur and Nimla
The mishap took place on the Rampur-Aut-Luhri National Highway, designated as NH-305. The car crashed down the roadside cliff along the stretch connecting Haripur and Nimla during the night hours. All individuals who died in the accident belonged to the neighboring villages of Jabon and Karana. The sudden demise of four community members while returning from a joyous family gathering has cast a profound pall of gloom across the entire valley.
Local authorities and community launch rescue operations
Upon receiving word of the fall, local villagers joined police officers, the local pradhan of the Jabon-Karana gram panchayat, and Anni legislator Lokendra Kumar at the scene to assist in rescue operations. Responders descended into the gorge, recovered the deceased from the wreckage, and transported the injured survivor to a hospital for urgent medical attention. Law enforcement authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the crash.
