A tragic incident has emerged from the Holi area of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh, where Chandramani Kuleti, the state vice-president of the Youth Congress, died after coming into contact with a live electric wire. He was actively engaged in preparations for the upcoming visit of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu when the accident took place late at night. The sudden demise has plunged the entire region into mourning, prompting grief-stricken reactions from political leaders.
Engaged in Late Night Preparations for the Visit
According to reports, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu's scheduled visit to Holi was planned for October 22 and October 23, prompting grand preparations across the area. Chandramani Kuleti was busy putting up banners, posters, and party flags during the night hours as part of the welcoming arrangements. Around midnight, he reportedly came into contact with a power line and suffered a fatal electric shock. A resident of Holi, he leaves behind his wife, a child, and his parents.
Last Social Media Post Shared Just Before the Incident
Shortly before the tragic accident, at around 12 midnight, Chandramani Kuleti shared his final post on his social media page, detailing the preparations underway for the Chief Minister's visit along with photographs of party flags being installed. In his message, he expressed enthusiasm for the development hopes of the Holi valley and the warm welcome awaiting Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, noting the collective excitement of all the youth colleagues involved in organizing the event.
Condolences Pour in From Political Leaders
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed profound grief over the untimely demise, stating that the Congress family has lost a dedicated and hardworking youth leader who was extremely enthusiastic and had been tirelessly working on the arrangements for days. Cabinet Minister Jagat Singh Negi, BJP leader Trilok Kapoor from Palampur, and state Congress chief Vinay Kumar also shared heartfelt condolences, describing his sudden departure as an irreparable loss to the organization and praying for strength for the bereaved family.
