Vivo is gearing up to introduce its latest premium smartphone, the Vivo V80, in India on October 6. While the company has kept official details regarding specifications and commercial pricing tightly under wraps, extensive information detailing the handset's internal components and variant pricing has surfaced online ahead of the launch. The early details indicate a device tailored heavily toward photography enthusiasts and heavy users seeking multi-day power backup.
Expected Variant Pricing and Storage Tiers
According to specifications posted on X by tipster Abhishek Yadav, the upcoming device is likely to arrive in three distinct configurations. The baseline version featuring 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage is estimated to carry a starting price of ₹63,000. Moving up the ladder, the configuration offering 8GB of RAM with 256GB of onboard storage may retail around ₹70,000, while the top-tier build combining 8GB of RAM with 512GB of internal storage could command a price tag close to ₹80,000.
Camera System Tailored for Optical Zoom
The imaging department appears to be a central highlight of the smartphone, featuring a triple rear array led by an optically stabilized 50MP main sensor designed to keep shots clear and blur-free. Capturing wide architectural views and group portraits will be handled by an 8MP ultrawide secondary sensor. The standout inclusion is an optically stabilized 50MP telephoto camera delivering 3x optical magnification, capable of shooting distant subjects with shallow depth of field similar to dedicated camera hardware. On the front, self-portraits and high-definition video calls are expected to be supported by a matching 50MP sensor.
Battery Endurance, Display, and Hardware
Longevity stands out as another notable component, with the phone tipped to integrate a large 7,200mAh battery unit. This substantial capacity is claimed to comfortably support up to two days of heavy operation across continuous video playback and demanding mobile gaming sessions. Replenishing this battery quickly will be managed through 90W fast charging support. Visually, the device is slated to carry a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED flat panel operating at a fluid 144Hz refresh rate. Powering internal tasks is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, paired with fast UFS 4.1 flash storage to ensure prompt application loading and responsive multitasking.
Durability Standards and Additional Capabilities
The external construction of the handset is anticipated to feature a sturdy metal frame for improved structural rigidity. Protection against environmental elements is expected to be comprehensive, boasting both IP68 and IP69 ingress ratings to resist dust and deeper water submersion. Security is handled by an under-screen ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Audio delivery is supported by stereo speakers, while home automation is aided by an integrated IR blaster and physical connectivity is offered via a USB 2.0 port.
