When discussing major international shows in the fashion world, names like Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and Adriana Lima usually come to mind. However, discussions now center around an Indian model who earned her place through hard work. Her name is Rawlin Verghese. Reaching the international fashion stage from a small village in Kerala, Rawlin walked the ramp at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show on October 18, 2026. Notably, she walked twice during the show and is reported to be the first Malayali model to reach this platform.
Rawlin Verghese comes from Kodumon in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. Her journey can serve as an inspiration for those who want to build careers in the fashion and glamour world starting from small towns. However, Rawlin did not decide to become a model from the very beginning. At 18 years of age, she came to Delhi to study designing and enrolled at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).
During her studies, Anima Creative Management noticed her, and she began receiving modeling opportunities. Initially, Rawlin lacked confidence in whether she could succeed in this field. Because of this, she took time to accept offers from some modeling agencies. Gradually, however, she began working and started building her identity in this sector.
After entering modeling, Rawlin got the opportunity to work with several major fashion brands and designers. She has worked with Dior, Loewe, and Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi. Furthermore, she has marked her presence on major platforms like New York Fashion Week.
Thus, her career was not limited just to Indian fashion but advanced internationally as well. From appearing on magazine covers to walking the ramp at major fashion shows, Rawlin continuously secured new opportunities. Her story also shows that advancing in the fashion world requires not only getting opportunities but also recognizing them and working on them.
The Victoria Secret Fashion Show held on October 18, 2026, became a crucial milestone in Rawlin career. In this show, she walked the ramp in two different looks. The first time, she appeared in a pink lacy lingerie set and a long robe. Afterward, she returned in a black and white look, sharing the ramp with models Luíza Perote and Malika El Maslouhi.
