The Karjat-Lonavala ghat section of the Mumbai-Pune railway line received an unprecedented 600 millimeters of rainfall within 24 hours. Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, stated that landslides occurred near Thakurwadi and between Monkey Hill and Khandala, causing severe damage to tracks. Pune district reported a total of 22 landslide incidents. Meanwhile, the Thane district administration has imposed a complete ban on entry to tourist spots, including forts, waterfalls, dams, and lakes, to prevent accidents.

In Wayanad, Kerala, a landslide at the Kalladi tunnel project site resulted in one fatality and left seven people missing.
