Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has strongly condemned the recent attack targeting actor Tiger Shroff, declaring that the law enforcement machinery will deal ruthlessly with those responsible. Addressing a press briefing on 19 October, the Chief Minister confirmed that the assailants involved in the incident have been identified by the authorities. He emphasized that the Mumbai Police has taken up the investigation with utmost gravity and has secured critical clues, which will lead to the swift apprehension of the perpetrators.
Suspects Tracked Down as Police Tighten the Net
Speaking to media personnel, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis characterized the incident as extremely serious and deplorable. He stated that the police force acted promptly upon receiving information and deployed specialized teams to pursue the leads gathered from the crime scene. Operational units are actively pursuing the identified suspects. The administration has issued unambiguous directives to leave no stone unturned in concluding the investigation, ensuring that the culprits face severe legal consequences under established criminal law frameworks.
Syndicates Operating Outside State Boundaries Face Heat
Issuing an uncompromising warning to organized crime syndicates and rogue elements, the Chief Minister asserted that intimidation tactics would not be tolerated. He made it clear that anyone attempting to spread panic through extortion or threats would be met with an iron hand. Fadnavis remarked, "Mumbai Police knows exactly how to set them straight." He noted that the foot soldiers active within Maharashtra have already been rounded up, revealing that the key orchestrators behind such criminal activities are currently operating from other Indian states or foreign territories.
Central Assistance Enlisted to Extradite Overseas Conspirators
Devendra Fadnavis explained that state authorities are in close coordination with police departments across other regions where these gangs maintain operational bases. For kingpins directing operations from outside India, the state government is enlisting the full support of the central government to initiate international tracing and repatriation measures. He labeled the attackers as cowards who strike from the shadows, reiterating that their unlawful designs will be thwarted. Highlighting the track record of the Mumbai Police, he pointed out that the force has repeatedly demonstrated its prowess in pursuing fugitives across borders and bringing them before the judiciary.
Chief Minister Dismisses Opposition Criticism with Past Cases
In response to political criticism from opposition parties over the law and order situation, the Chief Minister mounted an aggressive counterattack. He urged opposition leaders to reflect on their own tenure before leveling baseless accusations at the current dispensation. Fadnavis pointed to the previous administration under Uddhav Thackeray, alleging that it was a period marked by state machinery being implicated in severe crimes. He cited the Mansukh Hiren murder investigation, corruption scandals surrounding police transfers and postings, and the incarceration of former ministers as evidence of systemic malpractice in that era. He also noted that even the nation's premier industrialist faced severe security vulnerabilities under the former government, contrasting it with his administration's uncompromising stance against crime.
