A serious controversy has erupted at a reputed educational institution in Nagpur, Maharashtra, after a faculty member allegedly sent obscene and inappropriate text messages to a former female student. Following the discovery of these communications by the family, the student's enraged father arrived at the campus and slapped the professor. The confrontation immediately triggered unrest across the premises, prompting youth and student organizations to assemble and demand a transparent inquiry into the matter.
Discovery of Offensive Texts Leads to Confrontation Inside College
The incident unfolded at a college located in the Wathoda area of Nagpur. A young woman residing in Central Nagpur had completed her studies at this particular institution approximately one year ago. The matter surfaced recently when her family members checked her mobile phone and uncovered multiple messages written in offensive and objectionable language that had been sent by the professor. Disturbed and angered by what he saw, the young woman's father went straight to the educational facility to confront the teacher.
Inside the campus, a heated verbal dispute broke out between the father and the faculty member. As tensions flared, the father lost his composure and struck the professor. The physical altercation caused widespread commotion among staff, administrative personnel, and students present in the building. The former student remains in a state of distress following the incident, and her family members have expressed deep emotional trauma over the objectionable texts.
Student Outfits Stage Protest as Management Places Faculty on Leave
As news of the allegations spread, activists from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad along with Bajrang Dal staged a demonstration on the college grounds. The protest was carried out at night with local police personnel deployed at the scene to ensure order. Representatives from both groups met the college management and handed over a formal memorandum demanding an impartial probe and strict regulatory action against the accused if found guilty.
In the wake of the public outrage and agitation, the university administration decided to place the accused professor on compulsory leave until the inquiry is completed. The administrative decision aims to ensure an uninterrupted and unbiased evaluation of the allegations leveled against the faculty member.
Police Await Formal Complaint from Affected Family
Despite the high-voltage drama and student agitations on campus, no formal written complaint had been submitted to the police at the time of the latest updates. Officials from the Wathoda police station stated that they have not yet received an official statement or petition from the victim or her family members.
Law enforcement authorities clarified that strict legal proceedings will be initiated in accordance with the law as soon as a formal complaint is submitted by the household. The incident underscores the pressing need for educational centers to maintain robust, neutral grievance mechanisms that ensure the dignity and safety of students.
