Retail fuel prices across India experienced significant movements on November 2, 2026, as fuel marketing companies revised rates for commercial liquefied petroleum gas cylinders and compressed natural gas across various urban distribution networks. State-run oil marketing firms pushed prices of 19 kg commercial LPG bottles higher by Rs 10 to Rs 17 following a firming trend in international benchmark rates. Simultaneously, several city gas distribution entities implemented sharp upward revisions in retail CNG pricing, with increments reaching up to Rs 4.45 per kilogram in certain consumption zones. In contrast, households received steady relief as retail prices for standard 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders were left unchanged, insulating domestic kitchen expenses from the latest pricing adjustments.
Commercial Gas Revisions Across Key Metros
Cylinders meant for commercial establishments such as restaurants, hotels, catering hubs, and eateries, which are sold in configurations of 19 kg and above, became costlier by Rs 10 to Rs 17 this month. Following the latest upward revision on November 2, 2026, a 19 kg commercial cylinder is available at Rs 2,820 in Delhi. Across the western business hub of Mumbai, commercial buyers are paying Rs 2,775 per cylinder, while the price in Kolkata climbed to Rs 2,971. In southern metropolitan centers, Chennai recorded a commercial LPG retail rate of Rs 2,994.50, and Bangalore established a rate of Rs 2,908 per cylinder. This current increase follows a substantial revision in the preceding month, during which commercial LPG prices surged by Rs 62.50 to Rs 71.50 across metropolitan markets.
Global Aramco Benchmark Triggers Price Push
The pricing matrix for Indian LPG is shaped by several distinct pricing inputs, chief among them being global benchmark rates determined through the Saudi Contract Price (Saudi CP) published every month by Saudi Aramco. The Saudi CP serves as the primary import reference index for LPG deliveries bound for Asian consuming nations, including India. During the latest monthly assessment, Aramco increased benchmark propane prices by 5.9 percent and butane quotes by 6.8 percent. In absolute monetary figures, Aramco lifted the propane contract price by $40 to $720 per tonne, while butane prices rose by $50 to reach $780 per metric ton. Indian state-run fuel retailers subsequently adjusted local commercial bottle rates to reflect these higher overseas procurement costs.
Domestic Kitchen Cylinders Retain Steady Rates
Unlike the upward adjustments seen in the commercial cylinder category, domestic cooking gas distributed in 14.2 kg bottles saw no change in pricing on November 2, 2026. Across national metropolitan markets, household consumers continue to pay previously fixed tariff rates. In Delhi, the retail price of a 14.2 kg domestic cylinder stands firmly at Rs 942. In Mumbai, the identical domestic bottle continues to retail at Rs 941.50, while the rate in Kolkata remains unchanged at Rs 968. In Chennai, households pay Rs 957.50 per domestic cylinder. The decision to hold rates flat maintains cost consistency for routine residential food preparation without putting pressure on monthly family budgets.
Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh See Upward CNG Revisions
Multiple regional gas utilities have adjusted vehicle fuel rates, hiking CNG tariffs across key operating circles. In Mumbai and its surrounding suburban districts, Mahanagar Gas Limited announced a price rise of Re 1 per kg, bringing local retail rates to Rs 90 per kg from Rs 89 previously. The revision marks the company's sixth CNG price increase over a seven-month span against the backdrop of ongoing conflict in West Asia. Concurrently, Green Gas Limited introduced a Re 1 per kg upward adjustment across five cities in Uttar Pradesh. Retail rates in Lucknow and Agra moved up by Re 1 to reach Rs 108 per kg, compared with Rs 107 earlier. Unnao registered the steepest localized leap of Rs 2.25 per kg, shifting from Rs 103.75 to Rs 106 per kg. Additionally, consumers in Ayodhya and Sultanpur saw rates increase by Re 1 each, taking retail tariffs to Rs 106 per kg from Rs 105.
Adani Total Gas Enforces Steep Hikes Across Operating Zones
Adding to the wave of adjustments, Adani Total Gas implemented price revisions that featured the steepest hike in the current round, scaling up rates by as much as Rs 4.45 per kg across certain geographical networks. Following this update, vehicle owners in Ahmedabad now pay Rs 98.47 per kg for CNG. In Faridabad and broader Haryana locations, the updated retail rate settled at Rs 102.60 per kg, while Jalandhar recorded an increased tariff of Rs 100 per kg. Elsewhere across the country, rates in Bangalore, Bharatpur, and Dewas increased by Re 1 each to reach Rs 99 per kg. In Meerut and Sonipat, Re 1 increments lifted prices to Rs 96.50 and Rs 99.90 per kg respectively, while Firozabad saw a minor uptick of Rs 0.40 to touch Rs 99.90 per kg. Defying the widespread trend, retail CNG prices remained completely unchanged in the national capital of Delhi at Rs 86.98 per kg, as well as in Chennai at Rs 99.50 and Rewari at Rs 91.59 per kg.
Piped Cooking Gas Stays Largely Steady Nationwide
Household consumers relying on piped natural gas enjoyed pricing stability, as retail PNG rates remained broadly unchanged across urban Indian centers for November 2026. In Delhi, residential piped gas costs Rs 49.60 per standard cubic meter (SCM), while Kolkata consumers continue to access supplies at Rs 50 per SCM. Both Mumbai and Chennai maintain identical retail rates of Rs 52 per SCM. Piped supplies are pegged at Rs 51.50 in Gurgaon, Rs 49.46 in Noida, Rs 53 in Bangalore, Rs 49 in Bhubaneswar, and Rs 51.50 in Jaipur. The country's highest piped tariffs remain situated in northern and southern metropolitan pockets such as Chandigarh at Rs 57.48, Lucknow at Rs 56.50, and Hyderabad at Rs 56 per SCM. Meanwhile, rates in Patna and Thiruvananthapuram sit at Rs 52.50 and Rs 51 per SCM respectively.
