Precious metal markets have experienced renewed upward momentum, pushing rates higher across key Indian urban centers. Global financial cues and evolving perspectives on monetary policy in the United States are directly influencing domestic bullion trade, keeping investors and retail buyers closely focused on shifting valuation metrics.
Global Influences and US Policy Shifts
International bullion traded near $4,500 an ounce following gains across two consecutive sessions. Market expectations for a September rate hike cooled down after Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller indicated a dovish stance, noting that keeping interest rates unchanged would be favorable if pricing pressures continue easing. Reflecting these broader global currents, spot gold and silver prices rallied more than 2% in the previous session, aided by a correction in the U.S. dollar and treasury yields.
Rates Surge Across Bengaluru and Major Cities
Mirroring international movements, domestic pricing saw substantial upward revisions. In India, the price of 24-carat gold climbed by Rs. 46,640 per 100 grams. Meanwhile, 22-carat and 18-carat gold rates registered major gains across primary urban hubs, including Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, as buyers navigate the higher valuation environment.
Multi Commodity Exchange Futures Trading
In contrast to the spot market rally, futures contracts on the Multi Commodity Exchange showed downward movement. Gold futures scheduled for October 5th, 2026, delivery traded lower by 0.39% at Rs. 1,55,173 per 10 grams in negative territory. Similarly, silver futures expiring on September 4th declined by 0.60%, trading at Rs. 2,40,899 per kg.
Outlook for Bullion Prices
Market projections indicate that spot gold is positioned to hold above the $4,400 threshold, potentially extending its rebound toward the $4,680 target. Lower global treasury yields, a retreating U.S. dollar, and a pause in the crude oil price rally continue to alleviate monetary tightening fears, thereby supporting sustained strength in precious metals.
