Delhi Police detained Abhijit Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janata Party, along with two of his associates, immediately after their flight from Mumbai touched down at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Police officers boarded the aircraft right after landing to take custody of Dipke, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka before they could exit the plane.
Lack of Permission for Jantar Mantar Protest
The detention followed an official denial of permission for the group to assemble. Authorities stated that the Cockroach Janata Party had not received clearance to organize any demonstration or gathering at Jantar Mantar. Because permission was denied, police intervened directly at the airport to ensure that the members could not proceed toward the protest site in central Delhi.
Exchange Inside the Aircraft
A brief exchange took place inside the cabin as officers confronted the leaders. Abhijit Dipke told the personnel that he had arrived specifically to get arrested and asked them to arrest him. Officers responded by stating, "नहीं, यह गिरफ़्तारी नहीं है। कृपया सहयोग करें।" and requested the passengers to cooperate. The police then escorted the three individuals away to maintain order.
