A devastating incident took place near the FCI warehouse close to Shantikunj in Rajasthan's Alwar district, where a young woman ended her life on the railway tracks. The deceased has been identified as Antima, a resident of Janta Colony, who was nine months pregnant at the time of the incident. She jumped directly in front of an oncoming double-decker train, dying on the spot. Before taking this drastic step, she authored a detailed suicide note naming members of her marital home as the cause of her extreme distress.
Severe Accusations and Call for Capital Punishment
In her final written note, Antima pointed fingers directly at her husband, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, accusing them of relentless mental torture driven by dowry demands. The note specifically pleaded with authorities to ensure the strictest legal retribution, urging that the accused either receive life imprisonment or the death penalty. Her maternal family echoed these claims, stating that her life had been made intolerable by constant harassment since the day she entered the marriage.
Background of the Marriage and Prior Violence
Antima was married approximately three years ago to Saumya Rajput, who hails from Shakarpur in Bharatpur and works as a principal in a government school. Her family further claimed that marital violence had turned deadly in the past, asserting that an attempt was made to strangle her roughly six months earlier. The allegations of continuous dowry intimidation and previous attempts on her life have raised critical concerns, and local authorities are currently investigating all claims to ascertain the complete sequence of events.
