Delhi Police has released AISA national president Neha Bora from custody. The decision to free her came on Saturday morning after completing the necessary legal and administrative formalities required under Section 65 of the Delhi Police Act. She was initially taken into police custody on the evening of October 16, 2026, during a Tiranga march, which subsequently triggered widespread calls for her release from various political leaders and student factions.
Legal Actions and Court Proceedings
While Neha Bora walked free following the completion of procedural requirements, action against co-detainee Abhijit Dipke is proceeding separately. Authorities initiated steps against him under Sections 126 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. He has been formally arrested and is scheduled to be presented before the SEM court for further legal proceedings.
