Police in Sri Ganganagar have arrested three more men in the gang rape case involving a 13-year-old girl, taking the total number of people held in the case so far to 18. The fresh arrests came after investigators carried out a detailed, scientific review of CCTV footage collected from the scene of the crime and the surrounding area.
CCTV Footage Becomes the Key Evidence
According to police sources, footage recovered from cameras near the crime spot and nearby localities was examined closely using scientific methods. This analysis exposed the suspicious presence of the three men and pointed clearly to their involvement in the crime. As soon as this evidence came to light, police teams moved quickly, carried out raids and took all three men into custody without delay.
Accused Allegedly Assaulted Girl Inside a Hotel Room
Investigators say the three men who have now been arrested are accused of assaulting the minor victim inside a hotel room. The probe has found that the accused went ahead with the crime with complete disregard for the law. Police are now digging into the criminal history of these men to check whether they have any previous record of similar offences. At the same time, investigators are trying to establish what direct role, if any, the hotel's staff or management played, since the assault took place on hotel premises.
Total Arrests Now Cross 18
With these three new arrests, the number of people taken into custody in this case has climbed to 18. Police have maintained an aggressive approach in the investigation since the case first came to light. Senior officers say this was not an isolated or random incident, but the work of an organised gang that lured young girls before pushing them into such crimes. Given how serious the case is, senior officials are monitoring every development closely so that a strong, well-supported chargesheet can be filed in court.
Administration Demolishes Three Hotels
The response to this case has gone beyond police action alone. The district administration has also stepped in with a strong move meant to send a message to those behind such crimes. Bulldozers were sent to three hotels identified as being linked to the case, and the illegal encroachments and unauthorised construction built by these hotels were completely razed to the ground. Administrative officials have made clear that business establishments found sheltering criminal activity will not be spared under any circumstances.
