The death toll of 105 and 147 villages still submerged in Assam highlight the severity of post-disaster displacement and crisis management. While the administration has disbursed one-time financial relief of Rs 15,000 to over 96,000 families and operated relief camps, the extensive damage to agricultural land and infrastructure demands strict administrative vigilance to ensure transparent distribution of aid and smooth rehabilitation for returning residents.

Immediate financial relief and one-time cash transfers alone are not enough for a permanent solution to Assam's recurring floods. Tackling this annual crisis in the Brahmaputra valley requires long-term policy reforms. Strengthening embankments, modernizing drainage systems, and implementing a robust rehabilitation strategy for agricultural losses will determine how effectively the state manages such crises in the future.
