The Jharkhand High Court has issued a stay on the state government decision to cancel 22 recruitment examinations, including JSSC CGL, CDPO, and JPSC selection tests. The court ruling brings major relief to successful candidates who were impacted by the cancellation order. Following the judicial stay, the path has been cleared for affected appointees to resume their official duties.
High Court Questions Government Action
During the hearing, the High Court raised questions regarding the basis of the state government decision. The bench asked how candidates could be held responsible for administrative irregularities in the examination process. The court observed that cancelling entire selection processes without proving candidate fault affects qualified examinees unfairly.
Celebrations Outside Ranchi Secretariat
Following the announcement of the court verdict, candidates and supporters gathered outside the Secretariat in Ranchi to celebrate the outcome. Prior to the ruling, affected officers and successful candidates had been demonstrating on a dharna in Ranchi against the cancellation decision. The High Court order halts the execution of the cancellation notice.
Status of Recruitment Drives Restored
With the stay in place, the status of the 22 recruitment drives covered by the government order is effectively restored. The state administration will now need to follow the directives of the High Court regarding the reinstatement of affected appointees and further recruitment steps.
