A shocking incident has emerged from the Lakshmangarh area in Rajasthan's Sikar district, where wedding celebrations in Jhadewa village suddenly turned chaotic. What began as a joyous occasion transformed into a violent confrontation between the wedding party guests and local villagers due to a dispute over the bursting of firecrackers. The altercation escalated rapidly, leading to a physical brawl involving sticks and blows, which left approximately half a dozen people injured.
Dispute Ignited by Firecrackers
The trouble began when a wedding procession arrived in Jhadewa village from Bhodki village in the Jhunjhunu district. During the welcome ceremony and the ritual procession, one of the guests was bursting firecrackers with great enthusiasm. A firecracker accidentally detonated very close to a car parked nearby. The occupants of the vehicle became furious and immediately confronted the youth, initiating a heated exchange of words followed by a physical assault. As fellow guests rushed to defend their companion, a large-scale scuffle broke out between the villagers and the wedding party. The situation turned brutal as local residents engaged in severe fighting, specifically targeting two of the wedding guests.
Police Intervention Prevents Further Escalation
Upon receiving news of the violence and the deteriorating atmosphere, police teams from both the Lakshmangarh and Balara police stations arrived at the scene. Law enforcement officials acted swiftly to calm the tempers of both groups and deployed a heavy force to maintain order. To ensure that the wedding rituals could be completed without further disruption and that the procession could eventually depart safely, the police remained stationed at the venue throughout the night. It is noteworthy that by late night, neither party had filed a formal complaint at the police station. Elders from both sides opted to resolve the conflict through mutual mediation, choosing to put the matter to rest privately.
