Donald Trump used his Truth Social account, posted under the handle @realDonaldTrump, to launch a lengthy attack on Minnesota's political scene, targeting Senator Amy Klobuchar's campaign for Governor and throwing his full backing behind a rival contender for the post.
Klobuchar's run for Minnesota's top office
Amy Klobuchar has represented Minnesota in the US Senate for years and has long been viewed within her party as a personable and pragmatic figure, someone Democrats have at times floated as a rising star. In his post, Trump said she is now running for Governor to succeed the current officeholder, Tim Walz, whom Trump described as Corrupt and Incompetent.
What Trump said
Trump wrote that he has gotten to know Klobuchar over the years and considers her equally as incompetent as Walz, and probably equally as corrupt, arguing that as a senior Minnesota official she would have known everything happening in the state. He went further, alleging that Minnesota's elections have been RIGGED, claiming that without this, any Republican could win the state, and that no Republican presidential candidate has carried Minnesota since Richard Nixon many years ago. Trump added that he believed he had won the state in all three of his own presidential runs, only to be disappointed in the end.
Endorsement for Mike Lindell
Trump used the same post to give his Complete and Total Endorsement to Mike Lindell for Governor of Minnesota, urging voters to back him instead and to forget about what he called Corrupt Dumocrats like Amy Klobuchar. He closed the message with the slogan MAKE MINNESOTA GREAT AGAIN and signed it President DONALD J. TRUMP.
A tense political backdrop
The post arrives at a moment when Minnesota's politics have already been under intense scrutiny, after a political assassination shook the state in 2025 and drew national attention to the security and tone of political life there.
