What Semicon 2.0 Aims To Do
Semicon 2.0 has been introduced to build out the entire chain from chip design to manufacturing within India. The Rs 1,27,500 crore outlay approved for the scheme will go into developing the semiconductor ecosystem, with the goal of boosting the country's chip making capacity and reducing reliance on imported electronics. Other Recent Cabinet Decisions
Over the past few months, the Union Cabinet has approved several major decisions, according to reports. It cleared the Urban Challenge Fund with total Central Assistance of Rs one lakh crore. The Cabinet also approved decisions on a clean mobility scheme for Delhi-NCR, National Highway projects, and support for the airline sector, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had praised. Separately, the Cabinet earlier approved the transition of the North and South Blocks into the Yuge Yugeen Bharat National Museum. The first Cabinet meeting at the new PMO Seva Teerth had also been expected to bring good news, according to reports.
