A shocking robbery has come to light from Odisha's Balasore district, where a petrol pump was targeted at gunpoint. Video of the incident has surfaced and is spreading rapidly on social media. Police swung into action as soon as the complaint was filed and have launched an investigation, though the accused remain at large so far.
Robbery unfolds at a pump in Darada, Basta
The incident took place in the Basta area of Balasore district, at a petrol pump located in Darada village. The robbery happened late on Friday night, around 11:30 pm. According to police, two unidentified young men arrived at the petrol pump riding a motorcycle. As soon as they reached the spot, they pointed a gun at the employee on duty and began threatening him.
Employee flees in fear, robbers grab the cash
Seeing the weapon, the terrified employee fled the spot to save his life. With the employee gone, the assailants seized the opportunity, grabbed the cash kept at the counter, and immediately sped away on their motorcycle. The entire act was carried out within moments. As soon as word of the robbery spread, local police were alerted, and a team reached the scene to closely examine the site.
CCTV footage becomes the key to the probe
Fortunately, CCTV cameras installed at the petrol pump recorded the entire robbery. Police have seized this footage for their investigation. Using the footage along with other evidence gathered from the spot, police are now working to identify the two suspects. Police have said the investigation is ongoing and expressed confidence that the accused will be arrested soon once leads are developed. For now, both accused remain on the run, and the search for them continues.
