The prolonged standoff between Union Minister JP Nadda and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders finally opened a channel for talks, with a meeting beginning at 11:50 am. JP Nadda himself confirmed the development, calling it his first statement on the matter.

JP Nadda said the proposal for talks with the government came from the protesters' side for the first time. Following that, the two sides began negotiations from 11:50 am, a process that continued for hours. According to JP Nadda, the entire meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere.
Verbal discussion first, written petition later
JP Nadda first held a detailed verbal discussion with the CJP delegation. During this exchange, the protesters laid out their demands in detail. Around 4 pm, the delegation also handed JP Nadda a written petition. According to reports, CJP placed three key demands before the government.

After the meeting, JP Nadda shared a photo of the meeting on X and wrote, "This morning, for the first time, a proposal for talks with the government came from the protesters, and our talks have been going on since 11:50 am." He added that he had requested all the protesters to end their dharna and help the administration restore normal conditions.
Delhi Police row and the government's reaction
Just before this meeting, CJP had reversed one of its own claims. The party had earlier alleged that Delhi Police had taken away its leader Abhijeet Deepke, but later withdrew that claim. Separately, after the meeting with CJP leader Saurav Das, the Modi government's first reaction also brought up the matter of Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation, a development that has stirred fresh discussion in reports.
