The political landscape in Maharashtra witnessed intense turmoil after Maratha quota agitation leader Manoj Jarange Patil made a 32-minute audio clip public, triggering widespread debate across the state. Following the release of the recording, senior Shiv Sena leader and industry minister Uday Samant stepped forward to demand a comprehensive investigation into the contentious audio file. He emphasized that the matter requires forensic analysis, cyber scrutiny, and a dedicated Special Investigation Team probe to uncover the facts behind the viral recording originating from Jalna.
Allegations within the viral audio and suspected conspiracies
The controversy erupted when Manoj Jarange Patil released the purported audio clip, alleging a deep-rooted conspiracy to defame and weaken the Maratha reservation movement. According to segments within the recording, claims were made that 500 crore rupees had already reached Jarange, alongside statements suggesting that the primary personal targets of the operation were Devendra Fadnavis and the BJP. Addressing a press conference, Uday Samant stated that this audio clip could be part of a larger, calculated conspiracy designed to tarnish Chief Minister Eknath Shinde image among the Maratha community and create misunderstandings between the Shiv Sena and the BJP.
Addressing financial claims and hidden actors behind the scenes
Commenting on the alleged financial transactions mentioned in the clip, Samant pointed out that Manoj Jarange Patil has already made it clear that he received no such money, while Eknath Shinde has also stated his stance on the issue. He asserted that rather than arguing over unverified monetary claims, it is crucial to identify the individuals pulling the strings from behind the curtain. He accused certain elements, both within and outside political parties, of attempting to exploit the situation to drive a wedge between the Maratha community and Shiv Sena, while simultaneously trying to strain the alliance between Shiv Sena and the BJP.
Formal investigation demands and Ramdas Kadam remarks
Announcing the next steps, Samant revealed that a delegation from the Shiv Sena would formally meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to officially request these investigations. Weighing in on the ongoing controversy, senior Shiv Sena leader and former minister Ramdas Kadam also strongly criticized the contents of the audio clip. Kadam remarked that Eknath Shinde has played a vital role in providing legal strength and justice to the Maratha reservation, claiming that essential legal strategies for the community were formulated precisely under his leadership initiative.
