Revanth Reddy, who demanded that Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy immediately dismiss BRS MLC Tata Madhusudan and expel him from the house following the controversial comments made against the speaker. In response to the unfolding events, BRS legislators and council members staged a massive sit-in protest at the assembly gates on Monday, blocking roads and burning effigies of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. These demonstrations caused major traffic disruptions across several areas, prompting police to clear the streets, which led to further detentions and intensified the political friction across the state.
Origin of the Clash and Opposition Warning
The core of the dispute traces back to Monday when BRS lawmakers arrived at the assembly wearing black clothes to register their protest. When marshals barred them from entering the building citing official rules, the agitated opposition members began demonstrating at the main gate. During these protests, politics in the state intensified further when MLC Madhusudan allegedly used inappropriate language against the speaker, leading to a formal case and his subsequent arrest from the MLA quarters early Tuesday morning.
