Political activity across Rajasthan has intensified following the announcement of the local body election schedule, with major parties ramping up their ground preparations. To secure control over the crucial Jaipur Municipal Corporation, the Congress party has mapped out a massive electoral strategy. Out of the total 150 wards in the civic body, the party has set an ambitious target of capturing two-thirds, or 100 wards. Jaipur District Congress President Sunil Sharma addressed a press conference on Monday to lay out the party's comprehensive election preparations, expressing absolute confidence that the organization will successfully achieve its target.
Contesting All 150 Wards With Over 1350 Applications Received
During the briefing, the Jaipur District Congress President announced that the party will field candidates across all 150 wards of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation. Extensive preparations for the polls have already commenced. To ensure sound footing, the district unit also commissioned a political survey at the municipal level. Party workers have shown tremendous enthusiasm for contesting the elections, with the organization receiving more than 1350 applications from aspirants so far. The leadership emphasized that the party will fight the upcoming polls with complete unity to deliver favorable results.
Internal Discipline Committees Formed and Alliances Ruled Out
To curb potential dissension and internal rebellion, the party has established a discipline committee headed by MLA Amin Kagzi. Additionally, a political affairs committee has been formed in the presence of MLA Rafiq Khan. Addressing speculation about pre-poll tie-ups, the leadership made it clear that the Congress will not enter into any kind of alliance with any other political party for the municipal elections, choosing instead to contest independently.
Key Leaders Entrusted With Major Responsibilities
To steer the civic election campaign effectively, significant responsibilities have been assigned to prominent leaders. Former minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, along with key party figures Pushpendra Bhardwaj, Archana Sharma, Abhishek चौधरी, and other leaders, have been given crucial roles to manage and strengthen the party's outreach across the city.
Ward-Specific Manifestos and Heritage Campaign Planned
Alongside its target of winning 100 out of 150 wards, the party is crafting separate, customized manifestos for every single ward in Jaipur. A massive election campaign centered around the distinct identity and heritage of Jaipur city will be rolled out. Asserting that the public across the entire state is deeply frustrated with the ruling party and looking for an alternative, leadership maintained that the campaign is aligned with the public sentiment. The screening of ticket aspirants will be undertaken shortly, and the party manifesto will focus sharply on major municipal issues.
