A trivial argument turned deadly in Amritsar, Punjab, where a young man was shot and killed by his own friends over moving a parked scooter. The brutal incident took place in the Anand Avenue area of the city on October 23 at around 11:30 PM. The victim has been identified as Amit, and his tragic death has left the local community in deep shock. According to the victim's father, his son was pumped with six bullets by individuals he considered friends. Preliminary investigation indicates that the deadly altercation flared up simply because of a disagreement over moving an Activa scooter. After executing the crime, all the suspects managed to flee from the scene, and law enforcement agencies are currently carrying out raids to track them down.
Heated argument over shifting the scooter
According to the statements given by the victim's father, Amit got into a verbal spat with his friends regarding the positioning of his Activa scooter. The situation escalated rapidly within moments, prompting the accused to open fire on Amit. The shooting occurred right outside the house, and Amit was struck by a total of six bullets, with two hitting him directly in the head. Additionally, bullets struck his waist and leg, causing him to collapse instantly on the ground. Hearing the deafening sound of gunfire, family members and local residents rushed to the spot and immediately took Amit to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Father claims no old rivalry existed
Grieving over the loss of his son, Amit's father stated that the young man had no prior enmity or ongoing rivalry with anyone in the area. He firmly asserted that the sole catalyst for the dispute was the petty argument over moving the scooter aside. Following a brief verbal altercation, the attackers opened fire and took his son's life. The grieving father has strongly demanded strict legal action against the culprits. He emphasized that those responsible for murdering his son must be severely punished so that the family can receive justice.
Three brothers accused as police hunt continues
Following the incident, local police immediately launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter. According to law enforcement officials, the accused went into hiding right after committing the crime, and multiple raids are underway to ensure their arrest. Initial findings in the case have also pointed out that the main suspects accused of carrying out the murder are three brothers.
