In recognition of his distinguished career and exemplary devotion to duty, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Chain Singh Mahecha of Bali has been conferred with the prestigious President's Police Medal. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma formally presented the honor along with the presidential citation letter to ASP Mahecha during the state-level Independence Day celebrations held at Dr. Karni Singh Stadium in Bikaner.
Distinguished Track Record in Solving Complex Crimes
Throughout his tenure in law enforcement, ASP Chain Singh Mahecha has earned recognition for successfully navigating and resolving several highly intricate criminal investigations. Under his direct leadership, police teams accomplished the challenging feat of solving 15 blind murder cases where initial leads were entirely absent. His strategic acumen and persistent investigative approach proved pivotal in bringing offenders in these mysterious homicide cases to justice.
Beyond solving grave homicides, ASP Mahecha's operations dealt a severe blow to illegal networks and contraband trafficking. His tactical leadership during various police operations resulted in the total seizure of illicit goods valued at approximately 1.74 crore rupees. This substantial confiscation included counterfeit currency notes, narcotic substances, and large consignments of illegal liquor, effectively dismantling several organized crime operations in the region.
Continuing a Legacy of Police Service and Integrity
ASP Mahecha credits his father, Jalam Singh Mahecha, as the primary guiding force behind his dedication to public service. His father, who served as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), hailed from a rural background and transformed his role in the police force into a platform for social development and national service. Demonstrating outstanding excellence across all operational fronts, the elder Mahecha was also honored with the President's Police Medal during his service career.
In the Marwar region, Jalam Singh Mahecha became an inspiring figure for local youth and rural communities, actively assisting numerous individuals in securing employment opportunities. Inspired by his father's reputation and philanthropic values, Chain Singh Mahecha chose to join the police force with a single-minded focus: to walk in his father's footsteps and elevate the family legacy of community service.
Social Commitment Through Life-Saving Blood Donation Drives
Embracing the lessons of civic responsibility instilled by his father, ASP Mahecha organizes a massive blood donation camp every year in his memory. The blood collected through these annual drives is earmarked for critical medical needs, providing vital support to children suffering from Thalassemia and trauma victims admitted to emergency healthcare facilities who require immediate transfusions.
Advocating for greater public participation in blood donation, ASP Mahecha emphasizes that saving a human life is the highest form of service. He dispels common myths surrounding blood donation, asserting that donating blood poses no risk or weakness to the human body since new blood cells naturally regenerate. According to him, contributing toward saving lives remains the most meaningful act of charity one can perform.
