A shocking incident of lawlessness and severe traffic violations has unfolded on the high-speed Jaipur-Bandikui Expressway, where a group of rowdy motorcyclists illegally entered the restricted corridor and mowed down a toll plaza employee who tried to halt their progress. Despite stringent government directives banning two-wheelers from using the expressway due to safety concerns, unauthorized entries continue to pose a massive threat. This recent clash highlights a glaring loophole in security protocols as seven individuals riding on three motorcycles managed to bypass security checkposts, cause serious injuries to on-duty staff, and flee the scene with absolute impunity.
Concealing Identity: License Plates Masked with Black Tape
The violators had reportedly planned their unlawful expedition on the expressway with deliberate criminal intent. To evade automated detection and ensure that high-definition CCTV cameras installed at the toll plazas could not capture their vehicle registration numbers, they covered their license plates with black adhesive tape. According to eyewitnesses, two of the three speeding motorcycles also had female passengers riding pillion. This deliberate attempt to mask their identities strongly suggests that the group was fully aware of the illegality of their actions and had pre-planned their escape route to avoid prosecution by highway authorities or the police.
Confrontation at the Toll Plaza and Escape Route
Because two-wheelers are strictly barred from entering the expressway, toll employees are trained to intercept any unauthorized vehicles at the entry points. When the three motorcycles approached the toll booth, a staff member stepped forward and signaled them to stop. However, instead of applying brakes, the reckless riders accelerated their vehicles. One of the speeding motorcycles crashed directly into the toll worker, leaving him severely injured on the road. Amid the sudden chaos and panic that gripped the toll plaza, the bikers seized the opportunity to accelerate away. They reportedly used the Bapi interchange to exit the expressway and fled towards the Bhangarh region.

Local police were immediately notified about the violent hit-and-run incident. However, law enforcement officials from the Sainthal police station noted that they are facing procedural challenges. No formal written FIR has been registered by the injured toll worker or the toll plaza administration so far. Police authorities emphasized that a formal complaint is legally required to launch a full-scale criminal investigation and book the offenders under the Motor Vehicles Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. In the meantime, police teams are proactively scanning CCTV footage from cameras located around the Bapi interchange and neighboring routes to trace the path taken by the fleeing suspects.

This reckless episode highlights the critical need for much tighter security and stricter enforcement at all entry points of national expressways. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in coordination with local police forces must organize joint checkposts and install physical barriers capable of deterring unauthorized vehicles.
