The sacred memorial shrine of Guru Balinathji, spiritual preceptor of folk deity Baba Ramdev, located in the Masuria quarter of Jodhpur, is set for a major architectural enhancement designed to upgrade visitor facilities and expand the shrine grounds. Construction of a monumental main entrance gate commenced following traditional rituals and Vedic chanting organised by the Pipa Kshatriya Samast Nyati Sabha Trust Masuria. As part of the ceremonial groundbreaking, five sanctified foundation stones were positioned within the ground to formally start the building work. The religious ceremony was led by trust president Narendra Chauhan, secretary Narendra Goyal, treasurer Purushottam Rakhecha, vice-president Shivprakash Daiya, along with Dinesh Goyal and other senior office bearers.
Carving Over 1500 Tonnes of Chhitar Stone by Sirohi and Fatehpur Artisans
The entire monumental gate is being sculpted from local Jodhpur chhitar sandstone, requiring upwards of 1,500 tonnes of material to complete the intricate structure. Master craftsmen hailing from Sirohi and Fatehpur have been dedicated to stone dress work, fine shaping, and decorative carving for the past two years. Their chiselling brings alive classic Jodhpuri architectural traditions, covering the massive stonework with ornate patterns and heritage artwork that celebrate the region's historical building craftsmanship.
Dimensions, Three-Passage Layout, and Monitoring Infrastructure
Engineered to handle substantial foot traffic during major religious gatherings, the overall portal measures 45 feet across in width and stands 35 feet tall. The passage is split into three functional sections: a wide central archway measuring 24 feet across, flanked symmetrically on either side by two auxiliary portals measuring 11 feet each. Crowned atop the entrance gate will be Baba's sacred pennant flag, planned as a striking visual landmark for arriving pilgrims. On the interior side of the entryway, the trust plans to build two operational rooms dedicated to ongoing site administration, security oversight, and campus monitoring tasks.
Shrine Dedication, Statuary Consecration, and Tourism Expansion
Upon completion, the grand gateway will be officially named after the holy resting place of Guru Balinathji. The unveiling of this newly constructed structure is timed to coincide with a planned ceremony for the consecration of a five-foot-tall idol scheduled at the shrine grounds. Funded at an outlay of lakhs, the project aims both to offer better amenities to arriving devotees and to establish the wider Masuria neighborhood as a prominent regional center for spiritual pilgrimage and cultural tourism.
