The worsening condition of roads in Mandawa town, located in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, has created severe difficulties for local residents and daily commuters. Large and hazardous potholes have emerged across prominent thoroughfares, turning everyday travel into a safety risk. From Mukundgarh Road to the Jaipur highway, the infrastructure has deteriorated significantly, putting schoolchildren, pedestrians, and drivers at daily risk. Widespread resentment has brewed among the public due to the continuous apathy shown by local administration and elected representatives.
Petiotic hazards near vital government institutions
Along Mukundgarh Road, starting from the area near the old petrol pump, the road surface is in an appalling state right in front of major administrative buildings. Important and high-traffic public institutions including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate office, the Panchayat Samiti office, the tehsil, and the government hospital are situated along this stretch. Hundreds of officials, employees, and ordinary citizens arriving from distant areas visit these offices daily, yet this primary corridor remains completely neglected. The roadway features deep and wide cavities that can easily cause motorists to lose control and suffer injuries from minor miscalculations.
Deterioration near the martyrs memorial in Mithwas
The main route connecting Mandawa to Jaipur faces similar infrastructural decay inside Mithwas village, right in front of the local martyrs memorial. Deep craters on this section trigger frequent accidents and mishaps. Local resident Mukesh Garhwal Tetara stated that during the monsoon season, these depressions fill up with water and hide their actual depth, multiplying the risk of crashes for both two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers. Although locals have repeatedly approached administration officials and public figures through written and verbal representations, the ground reality remains unchanged.
Public demands and warnings of agitation
Residents have voiced concerns over whether authorities and responsible officials are simply waiting for a major tragedy to occur. Citizens of Mandawa have strongly urged the district administration and local leaders to expedite repair work and fill the damaged patches to prevent any fatal incidents. If road construction and maintenance efforts are not initiated promptly, the local population has warned that they will be forced to launch major protests.
