A violent clash erupted between two factions of the same family over a land ownership dispute in Jhanjhar village, located within the jurisdiction of the Sikri police station area in Alwar district, Rajasthan. The brutal confrontation, which took place on the occasion of Dussehra, involved both sides attacking each other with wooden sticks and sharp farm tools known as farsi, leaving a total of five people critically injured. Among the wounded, two belong to one faction while three belong to the other, and all of them were rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital in Alwar for urgent medical treatment.
Severe Injuries Sustained in the Attack
During the violent episode, a 70-year-old elderly man named Jivanlal was struck fiercely on the leg with a farsi, resulting in a wound so deep that his leg was brought to the verge of being severed. Additionally, a woman named Poonam was also severely hurt in the altercation. The dispute is said to stem from a disagreement over land ownership rights between the two sides. However, the exact trigger behind the dispute and the precise circumstances surrounding the beating will only become fully clear once the police complete their investigation.
Details of the Attack and Allegations
Rajendra, a member of the injured faction, stated that a prolonged dispute had been ongoing with the other branch of the family regarding property ownership. According to him, individuals including Rohtas, Vijendra, Rakesh, Mansingh, Jagdish, and Mangal arrived in a group and launched an assault using sticks and farsis. This attack left Jivanlal and Poonam injured, with Jivanlal suffering a deep wound on his leg and Poonam sustaining multiple injuries. Meanwhile, Saroj, Rakesh, and Jagdish from the opposing side also sustained injuries and were similarly brought to the Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital for medical care, bringing the total number of injured individuals to five. Both parties continue to assert conflicting claims over the ownership of the disputed land. Only a thorough police inquiry will determine how the altercation originated and what specific role each participant played in the violence.
Tension Spills Over into the Hospital Premises
The situation escalated further and grew dangerously tense when the injured individuals from both opposing groups arrived for treatment at the Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital in Alwar. Outside the trauma ward, members of both families came face to face once again, immediately engaging in a fresh verbal altercation. The renewed hostility inside the hospital grounds caused considerable alarm among bystanders and patients present at the facility. Reports indicated that this shouting match broke out even before a patient could be properly unloaded from an ambulance, threatening to trigger a fresh wave of violence within the medical facility. Recognizing the rapidly deteriorating situation, police personnel intervened immediately to separate the two groups and restore order.
Police Investigation Awaited to Ascertain Facts
The violent escalation stemming from a family land dispute has turned critical with five people sustaining injuries and subsequent tensions flaring up right inside the hospital.
