Transforming the traditional festival of sibling love into a powerful platform against substance abuse, the local administration launched an extensive community drive. Under the leadership of District Collector Amit Yadav, a special initiative titled "Mera Bhai, Nasha Mukt Bhai" was organized across all government and private schools in the district as part of the broader "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan."
Anti-Addiction Rakhis Tied as Brothers Take Lifetime Vow
During this emotional campaign, thousands of female students bound "Nasha Mukti Rakhis" alongside traditional threads onto their brothers' wrists. In return, brothers placed their hands on their sisters' heads and took a solemn pledge: "I, your brother, give my word that I will never consume any form of addiction in my life." Vikram Jyani, co-in-charge of "Operation Seema" under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, shared that preparations for this massive drive had been underway across district schools for several days. The overwhelming participation demonstrated that family bonds and genuine emotional support serve as the strongest defense in steering youth away from the trap of drug addiction.

Executed under the guidance of District Education Officer Arvinder Singh, the program saw active involvement from all Chief Block Education Officers (CBEOs), school principals, teachers, and students. By executing an anti-addiction event on such a grand scale simultaneously, Sriganganagar has established itself as an inspiring model for the entire state of Rajasthan. What began as a school-level activity has evolved into a mass public movement, dedicated to shielding upcoming generations from fatal substance dependencies while fostering a healthy, safe, and enlightened society.
