Law enforcement authorities in the Khairthal district of Rajasthan have apprehended two cunning fraudsters who operated an extortion racket by impersonating police officers. The suspects targeted ordinary citizens by threatening them with fictitious cybercrime investigations and demanding money to settle the non-existent legal issues. The Kishangarhbas police station team acted swiftly on a tip-off to track down and arrest the two individuals. During the operation, officers recovered twenty-five thousand rupees in cash along with two motorcycles, specifically an Apache and a Splendor Plus, which were utilized to execute the crimes.
The Incident and Initial Police Alert
The events unfolded on August 26, when the police control room received an urgent alert regarding two suspicious individuals stationed near the Nangal Mozia village alongside their motorcycles. According to investigators, the duo had targeted a local resident, intimidating him by claiming his son was implicated in a serious cybercrime offense. To coerce the victim into paying protection money to avoid arrest, one of the perpetrators wore an official Rajasthan Police T-shirt, creating a convincing illusion of authority that prevented immediate suspicion from falling on them.
Swift Intervention and Identification of the Accused
Responding promptly to the control room dispatch, a police team operating under the leadership of trainee RPS and Kishangarhbas Station House Officer Neha Meena established a blockade and apprehended both suspects at the scene. The individuals were formally identified as Abdul, a twenty-eight-year-old resident of Nangal Mozia and son of Shahid, alongside Salim, a thirty-six-year-old resident of Sadhuka within the Kishangarhbas police jurisdiction and son of Sarif. Law enforcement officials have taken both men into custody, registered a formal case under relevant legal provisions, and initiated deeper interrogations to uncover any wider network or additional accomplices.

This successful law enforcement action was executed under the direct guidance of senior police officials, including the Inspector General of Police for the Jaipur Range and Khairthal-Tijara District Superintendent of Police Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay.
