A devastating road crash on National Highway 27 in the Bijolia area of Bhilwara district claimed the lives of a married couple on Thursday evening. The incident occurred near the Kishan Niwas intersection when a fast-moving Hyundai car struck a motorcycle from behind. The impact of the collision was severe enough that both riders died on the spot before medical aid could be rendered. Following the collision, Bijolia police station in-charge Swagat Padya arrived at the location with a police contingent to initiate emergency procedures and traffic management.
Collision During Evening Commute
The tragedy took place while the couple was returning home as part of their routine daily commute. The deceased husband, Rajesh Meena, had picked up his wife, Ram Mala Meena, from her workplace and was driving back on their two-wheeler. According to Bijolia station in-charge Swagat Padya, the driver of the trailing car attempted to overtake the motorcycle ahead. During this passing maneuver, the automobile rammed directly into the rear of the two-wheeler near Kishan Niwas crossing, throwing the passengers onto the pavement with fatal force.
Family Devastated Six Months After Wedding
Official identification established the victims as 35-year-old Rajesh Meena, son of Soji Ram Meena, and his wife Ram Mala Meena. Both individuals were originally residents of the Taleda locality within Bundi district but were currently living in Bijolia. The couple had tied the knot earlier this year in April. Ram Mala served as a class four employee at an educational institution in Ganeshpura, while Rajesh was dedicating his time to preparing for competitive exams. The sudden loss coming only half a year into their marriage has plunged their community and relatives into grief.
Daily Routine Interrupted by High-Speed Impact
Accounts from relatives and acquaintances noted that Rajesh routinely escorted his wife to the school each morning and brought her back home upon the completion of her work shift. On Thursday evening, the couple was following this familiar pattern when the crash occurred near the intersection. A substantial crowd of bystanders quickly assembled at the scene following the loud collision. The arriving police team moved both individuals to the mortuary at Bijolia Hospital, where medical staff officially pronounced them dead. Following post-mortem examinations, the authorities handed over the bodies to their grieving family members.
Driver Sustains Minor Injuries as Investigation Opens
The individual behind the wheel of the automobile also incurred injuries during the crash. Station in-charge Swagat Padya indicated that the deployment of the vehicle's safety airbags averted critical injury for the car driver. Law enforcement personnel have initiated an inquiry into the precise mechanics of the incident. Initial assessments indicate that excessive speed combined with an ill-timed overtaking attempt served as the primary factors leading to the deadly crash on the highway.
