Young sports talents from across Rajasthan have gathered in Wasda village of Sirohi district to compete in the state level rifle shooting tournament. Among the contenders aiming for top honors is twelve-year-old Shri Rajpurohit from Jalore district. Besides making strides on the shooting range, she is already an established name in cultural music, having performed traditional Rajasthani devotional songs on stage from an early age.
Representing Pali in Under-14 State Championship
The state level Under-14 rifle shooting competition is currently underway at the Ummed International School located in Wasda. Shri Rajpurohit is representing the Pali district squad at the meet. Her selection for the state tournament came after a competitive showing in the district-level qualifiers. Despite managing a busy performance schedule, she has sustained her dedication to precision sports and is competing alongside top young shooters from different parts of the state.
Singing Since Age Four and Early Stage Performances
Hailing from Sankarna village in Jalore district, Shri Rajpurohit began her musical journey when she was just four years old. By the age of seven, she was already performing in live stage shows, using her vocal talent to promote the Rajasthani language and traditional cultural heritage. Over the years, her devotional concerts have extended well beyond most districts of Rajasthan, reaching audiences in Gujarat as well as Mumbai in Maharashtra.
Seventh-Grade Student with Strong Social Media Following
Currently, Shri Rajpurohit studies in the seventh grade at Rajasthan Noble Public School in Pali district. Alongside her academic and athletic pursuits, she has built a substantial presence across digital platforms. Her traditional singing videos enjoy wide engagement on Instagram. Notably, her devotional song dedicated to the Rajasthani folk deity Om Banna has garnered over 500,000 views to date, earning her significant recognition online.
Preserving Cultural Heritage While Pursuing Sports
Having performed in multiple districts including Jalore, Sirohi, Pali, and Udaipur, Shri Rajpurohit is also scheduled to perform at an upcoming devotional evening in Sirohi. Specializing in devotional bhajans and Rajasthani folk music, she intends to keep preserving and advancing regional culture through her performances. Simultaneously, she remains committed to regular practice in rifle shooting with the ambition of excelling further in competitive sports.
