CBSE 10th Grade Second Exam Results Delayed by 50 Days, Leaving Students Stranded for Admission

Fifty days have passed since the CBSE Class 10 second board exams concluded, yet students remain in limbo as they cannot finalize 11th-grade admissions without their results. Parents are demanding immediate action from the board while struggling with school fee demands.

Students who appeared for the second round of CBSE Class 10 board exams are currently facing a period of intense uncertainty. Despite 50 days having elapsed since the completion of their examinations, the board has yet to publish the results. This prolonged delay is preventing these students from securing admission into the 11th grade, effectively stalling their progression to the next level of education. Concerned parents have taken to various social media platforms to voice their frustration, urgently calling upon the board to release the scores. Many families have highlighted the contradictory situation where schools are demanding fees starting from April, even while admission remains incomplete due to the missing grade cards.

The Dual Examination Policy

Starting in 2026, the CBSE introduced a framework allowing students to take the 10th-grade board examination twice. According to the board's policy, the first exam is the main session, which all candidates must attend. The second exam is designed specifically for students falling under the 'compartment' category or those seeking to improve their existing scores. The final mark sheet-cum-certificate issued by the board reflects the best of the scores achieved across both examinations. Students who have successfully cleared the primary examination are eligible to improve their performance in a maximum of three subjects, covering disciplines such as science, mathematics, social science, and languages.

Examination Data and the Current Impasse

For this second board examination cycle, 668,854 regular candidates had registered. This included 525,655 students appearing for score improvement, 85,285 falling under the 'compartment' category, and 57,914 students attempting both improvement and compartment categories. The exams were conducted between May 15 and May 21. While peers who finished their primary exams have already completed their 11th-grade admissions in April and have begun regular coursework, the candidates from the second round remain tethered to the wait for their results, unable to finalize their enrollment status at their respective institutions.

Rising Anxiety and Lack of Official Clarity

The delay has placed a significant burden on both students and their families. While speculation is rife that the results might be released within the coming week, there has been no official communication or confirmation from the board regarding a specific timeline. Parents have expressed deep frustration on platforms like X, pointing out that schools continue to raise demands for fees while keeping the admission process in a state of suspension. This persistent lack of clarity is not only consuming valuable academic time but also causing mental stress, as students remain unsure of their academic standing and future prospects until the results are finally declared.
