The Central Board of Secondary Education, commonly known as CBSE, officially announced the Class 12 supplementary examination results on Wednesday. The board communicated this official update through a post on its verified handle on the social media platform X. Students who sat for these examinations can now access and review their performance scores directly by visiting the official DigiLocker result portal at results.digilocker.gov.in. The board has made the scorecards accessible online to ensure smooth digital distribution for candidates across the country.
Three Candidate Categories Covered Under the Examination
The supplementary examinations conducted by CBSE catered specifically to three distinct groups of Class 12 candidates based on their prior academic results and requirements
- Compartment Candidates: This category comprised students who were unable to secure the required passing marks in one of the five essential main subjects during the primary board examinations.
- Six-Subject Candidates: This group consisted of students who had originally been declared passed by replacing an uncleared core subject with an additional elective subject, but who still wished to re-sit the examination for that specific core subject to earn passing marks in it.
- Improvement Candidates: This division included students who had already successfully cleared their overall Class 12 board examinations but chose to appear once again to enhance their overall scores and upgrade their academic profile.
Statistical Breakdown and Compartment Pass Percentage
According to the official statistics released for the CBSE Class 12 supplementary examination 2026, a total of 2,91,576 candidates registered for the test. Out of the total registered pool, 2,75,287 students physically appeared at the designated test centers to write the exams.
A closer look at the category-wise turnout reveals that 1,11,056 students took part under the Improvement category to raise their marks. Meanwhile, 1,64,231 candidates appeared under the Compartment category. As per the final compiled results, the Compartment category recorded an overall pass percentage of 53.08 percent among the examinees.

All candidates who participated in the supplementary tests can log onto the designated digital platform results.digilocker.gov.in to retrieve their marks. Examinees can view and download their official digital marksheets by entering their respective examination roll numbers and credentials on the portal.
