Dominant Performance at the Nagpur National Championship
The 37th National Wushu Championship took place in Nagpur, Maharashtra, from September 6 to September 8 under the auspices of Vidya Bharati. Over the course of the three-day competition, elite young martial artists from various states assembled to contest honors across diverse divisions. Competing in the under-17 age bracket within the 65 kg weight category, Vaishnav exhibited disciplined technique and sharp combat instincts. Outperforming tough competitors in consecutive bouts, he secured the top podium spot to bring home the gold medal for his home district.
Rigorous Preparation Under Coach Ankit Nath Yogi
Vaishnav's podium finish stems from an intensive and structured training regimen. He sharpens his combat skills at the Tandav Fight Club under the close supervision of his mentor, Coach Ankit Nath Yogi. Leading into the national event in Nagpur, Vaishnav underwent weeks of rigorous conditioning, tactical drills, and regular sparring sessions. This dedicated preparation helped him maintain endurance and tactical sharpness on the mat, enabling him to withstand pressure against seasoned opponents from around the country.
Next Challenge Awaits at the Srinagar SGFI Nationals
Fresh off his national title in Nagpur, Vaishnav is now gearing up for an even bigger competitive test. Representing Vidya Bharati, he is slated to compete in the upcoming SGFI Junior National Tournament scheduled to be held in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, from October 14 to October 18. Following his gold medal run, members and coaches at Tandav Fight Club expressed great optimism, expecting him to sustain his peak competitive form and deliver another strong campaign in Srinagar.
