Judo and the Cycling Track Round Out the Day

Unnati Sharma (-63kg) and Karanjeet Singh Maan (-90kg) compete in the round of 16, while Harsh Tokas (-81kg) and Inunganbi Takellambam (-70kg) go straight into the quarterfinals. If all four qualify, their medal matches will follow from 8:30 pm onward.

Track cycling and para track cycling also keep Indian riders busy through the day. At 2:30 pm, the men's sprint qualifying round features David Beckham Elkatochungo, Ronaldo Singh and Rojit Singh. Should they advance, the sprint pre-quarterfinal follows at 3:27 pm and the sprint quarterfinal from 4:03 pm. At 4:19 pm, Dinesh Kumar and Harshveer Singh Sekhon take part in the men's 10km scratch race qualifying. Later, subject to qualification, the sprint semifinal is scheduled for 7:38 pm, the sprint final for 10:02 pm, and the men's 10km scratch race final for 10:50 pm.

Taken together, the day is being seen as a pivotal one for India's medal count, with athletes competing across the boxing ring, the athletics track, the lawn bowls green, the judo mat and the cycling velodrome, all chasing a place on the podium.
