A wave of celebration swept across Sojat in Rajasthan's Pali district following the promotion of senior officer Dhanpat Raj Sankhla from the Rajasthan Police Service to the prestigious Indian Police Service cadre. As news of his elevation to the IPS broke out, well-wishers and local residents gathered in large numbers at his family residence in Sojat to extend their congratulations. Known for his exceptional academic record and exemplary policing career, Sankhla's achievement has brought immense pride to the entire region.
Academic Background and Gold Medal in Economics
Dhanpat Raj Sankhla was born into the family of Dhaglaram Sankhla, a well-known businessman and transporter based in Sojat. Right from his childhood, Sankhla demonstrated an extraordinary aptitude for academics. He completed his schooling up to class 12 in his hometown of Sojat before moving to Jodhpur for higher studies, where he earned his bachelor's degree. Demonstrating outstanding scholastic excellence, he went on to pursue a Master of Arts in Economics, securing first rank in the university and winning a Gold Medal for his stellar performance.
Career Beginnings in the Rajasthan Police Service in 1998
Sankhla began his official journey in law enforcement in 1998 when he was selected for the Rajasthan Police Service (RPS). As a dynamic young officer, he served in diverse regions across Rajasthan. He gained valuable field experience while serving as a Circle Officer (CO) in Chhabra, Sanchore, Barmer, Phalodi, and the Jaipur Traffic division. Throughout these postings, he played a pivotal role in maintaining law and order, managing traffic control, and bolstering public safety.
Promotion to ASP and Handling Key Sensitive Postings
Recognizing his strong administrative capabilities and commendable work ethic, Sankhla was promoted to the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 2010. His tenure as an ASP remained unblemished and highly distinguished. Over the years, he took charge of several sensitive and vital departments across the state administration. His postings as ASP included key assignments at the Jaipur Police Commissionerate, CID CB, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Neem Ka Thana, and the CM Vigilance department.
Presidential Police Medal and Elevation to IPS Cadre
Currently, Dhanpat Raj Sankhla serves as the Assistant Director (Administration) at the Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) in Jaipur. For his long-standing dedication and distinguished service in the police force, President Droupadi Murmu conferred upon him the prestigious 'Police Medal' on the occasion of Republic Day earlier this year. With his entry into the IPS cadre, the state of Rajasthan stands to benefit immensely from his deep expertise and extensive policing experience.
