Poco is doubling down on big-battery budget phones in India with the launch of its X8 series, made up of the Poco X8 and Poco X8 Power. Both handsets pack a 120Hz AMOLED display, sturdy dust and water resistance, and a lengthy software update promise.
Price and Sale Date
The Poco X8 starts at ₹29,999 in India, while the more powerful Poco X8 Power carries a price tag of ₹35,999. Both smartphones go on sale in India starting September 11, 2026.
Display, Protection and Build
Both phones come with a large 6.83 inch AMOLED panel that supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is Dolby Vision certified and hits a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, which should help with visibility under harsh sunlight. On durability, Poco has equipped both models with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K certification, meaning the phones should hold up better against rain, dust and accidental splashes during daily use.
Chipset, RAM and Software
Under the hood, the Poco X8 runs on a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, while the Poco X8 Power steps up to the more capable Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor. Buyers can pick configurations with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on either model. Both phones run Android 16 based HyperOS 3, and Poco has committed to 4 major OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates for the series, keeping the devices patched for the long haul.
Cameras
On the back, both phones carry a dual camera setup. The Poco X8 Power pairs a 50MP main sensor with an 8MP secondary shooter, while the standard Poco X8 gets a 50MP main sensor alongside a 2MP secondary lens.
A 10,000mAh Battery Steals the Spotlight
The headline feature of this launch is the Poco X8 Power's 10,000mAh battery, the largest cell Poco has ever fitted into a phone. It supports 100W wired fast charging, so the phone should top up quickly despite its size. The device also offers 27W reverse wired charging, letting owners use it as a power bank for other gadgets when needed. The standard Poco X8 gets a slightly smaller but still substantial 9,000mAh battery paired with 67W fast charging. Poco credits silicon-carbon battery technology for letting it pack such large capacities into both phones without making them uncomfortably thick.
